Paisley's::

I am currently taking a textile pattern design class and we are learning about so many different patterns that we are all familiar with, Paisley being one of them. Paisley's resemble a large comma or twisted teardrop, the kidney-shaped paisley is Indian and Persian in origin, but its western name derives from the town of Paisley, in central Scotland (wikipedia). It is such a beautiful design, because as long as you keep the outer shape you can embellish it with wahtever you want around it or inside or surrounding it and you can create a beautiful pattern of your own. We see this pattern on fabrics mainly, but people have been applying it to many things such as, lamps, wallpaper, boces, notebooks, carpets, etc. Pretty much anything and everything you can imagine.
